Professional Friend
membership is open to individuals who are currently in the accounting
field who intend to fulfill the requirements to become a CPA. Student
Friend membership is open to individuals actively pursing degrees in
accounting at a discounted rate. Welcome to membership in AWSCPA, the only national organization that acts as an advocate for women in the accounting profession. AWSCPA is devoted to training and supporting women CPAs. Members are accomplished, involved professionals who are dedicated to helping women CPAs achieve their full potential while balancing family and professional needs. AWSCPA recognizes that developing and demonstrating leadership skills is important to career advancement. As a result, we provide opportunities for women to take part in the leadership of AWSCPA. We urge you to participate actively with your Utah affiliate.

The Utah affiliate organized five luncheon meeting during the year beginning in September, but generally the meetings are bi-monthly. We arrange for speakers that will interest our group, and typically our meetings last for approximately one and a half hours. We begin our meetings at
8:00 a.m. at a Salt Lake City meeting place announced in advance. We expect to have approximately 35-50 women from AWSCPA attend the meetings. The session is provided for social interaction and also to allow attendees to earn up to one hour of continuing education credit. The Utah affiliate also produces a local chapter newsletter, which is published five times throughout the year beginning in August or September. The newsletter provides national and local information of interest to our members, which includes, local member news, local board news and information on past and upcoming events. We would like to be able to send the newsletter via email, so please keep us updated of your email address as well as your physical address. The Utah affiliate is involved in local community service projects. Our affiliate also provides a scholarship to a local student graduating with an accounting degree.
